Refund Options

TaxRoute has a number of refund options available. Your refund monies can be disbursed on a Visa Debit Card, in a Cashier Check, or via Direct Deposit.

NOTE: A Refund Anticipated Loan (RAL) is a loan in anticipation of a tax refund by the IRS.  RALs or “24 Hour Refunds” , though previously offered, are no longer available at TaxRoute.  Currently, TaxRoute clients can receive their refund monies usually within 10 days of being transmitted to the IRS.

What happened to the 24 hour refunds?  All RALs by TaxRoute were previously offered by Santa Barbara Bank & Trust (SBBT).  However, on January 11, 2010, SBBT issued a last minute announcement that they are not offering RAL's or 24 hour refund loans, due to their banking fiasco, and the amount of money they lost last year.  Read More…

VISA DEBIT CARDS
This is new refund option that is being offered this year to taxpayers.  Those who qualify can receive their refund monies on a Debit Card (from Visa) which can be used anywhere that major credit cards are accepted, with tax preparation and RAL fees deducted from the refund amount.  For clients who do not have a bank account, this option is great because (1) there are no withdrawal fees for the first 30 days after your card is activated; and (2) no limits to how much you can withdraw at one time.

DIRECT DEPOSIT
Your refund amount can be directly deposited to your bank account usually within 10 days, with tax preparation fees deducted from the refund amount.

CASHIER CHECK
You can receive a check in the amount of your refund, usually within 10 days with the tax preparation fees deducted from the refund amount.
